Have you ever asked yourself this existential question?

…It often comes to your mind when you finally take some time to breathe in the middle of your hectic activities, and suddenly you begin to question your crazy schedule and most importantly, the lack of meaning in your life.

But the real question is: Do you feel happy?

It does not matter not to have a well-established long term plan. Life is about embracing new opportunities and not sticking to an elaborate plan.

And life is too short to feel frustrated. So you need to think about the activities that you like, the people you enjoy being with, the environment you would like to evolve in and the type of work you like to do.

Don’t be afraid of your wildest dreams and desires too! Even if they don’t come true in the short run, you need to keep them at the back of your mind….They will help you define who you truly are.
For instance when I was 14, I was longing to spend a year in an American family and to experience the life of a typical high school student. And I ended up doing it. Even if people thought I was crazy. But this experience changed my life.

So if you’re a fan of kitesurf and would like to settle in Australia to be able to ride everyday… Why not after all? Give it a try!

Here are a few pieces of advice that will help you pave the way to the Life you want:

  • Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to stand in front of others
  • Don’t be afraid of the unknown
  • It isn’t because you decide to go one direction that you won’t be able to come back
  • Love yourself to be able to love others

One of the things I learnt during my bulimia therapy is that you can’t deny who you truly are. I discovered that I needed regular change and on-going personal projects in my life to be happy. And it’s OK not to be like others. I am not bizarre. I’m just myself!

Besides, when I graduated from High School, the Global Dean told me that as long as I kept a part of service in my life, I would be happy. And it is very true. I am still trying to figure out how I can help others and make a real impact. But I also know this will contribute to my happiness.

So don’t be upset if you find yourself not living the life you want. Make a few changes, find a new balance, and live your dreams! Just Do It!

  1. Thank you for the inspiration! I love your site look by the way, with the penguins and the glitter background, very cute. I just got got accepted to a community college today- i already have a bachelor’s degree and am going back to take some vet tech classes- I am in the social work field but I want to work with animals too and have wanted to for awhile so I am not sticking to any plan, just going to take it day by day and see what happens- talk about keeping your options open. Your post was perfect timing for me- thanks!

    1. Thank you Shannon! Yes, exactly, don’t worry about your choice. Do whatever feels best and is most appealing to you now, and you can always do something else later on. As long as you truly want something, you will make it happen! And congrats for being accepted to your College! xx
